Community Outreach Partners
The Women's Referral Network (WRN) is very active in the community and in 1996 adopted their first community
outreach partner, the YWCA of Chester County.
Since that time WRN has been involved and supported several organizations. Whether it was through a clothing
drive for the Career Wardrobe, fundraising efforts, or physical labor provided to assist the first ever
Habitat for Humanity Women Build in Chester County, WRN members have reached out to our partners delivering
the support they need.
WRN’s current Outreach Partner is the Chester County OIC.
WRN also offers its members the opportunity to participate in the MacElree Harvey Initiative
Grant which is presented to a worthy member annually.

The WRN of Chester County is
proud to have the Chester County OIC (CCOIC) as our Community Outreach Partner.
The Chester County OIC is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free Adult Basic Literacy Education and
essential life skills programs that prepare individuals for employment and self-sufficiency. Since 1979, CCOIC has assisted over
10,000 men and women in Chester County to improve their lives through increased knowledge and training. Located in West Chester
and now in Phoenixville, CCOIC expects to double their community impact within 5 years, through existing courses and
those currently under development.
CCOIC is an independent agency affiliated with OICA - Opportunities Industrialization Centers of America. OICA was founded in 1964
in Philadelphia by the Reverend Dr. Leon Sullivan.
Chester County OIC continues Dr. Sullivan's battle against injustice and discrimination through education and life skills training.
Specifically developed programs serve clients and students classified as low-income or disadvantaged. The ESL students represent
19 different native languages. Chester County OIC continues to grow and adapt to the needs of the county, students and clients.
Chester County OIC is funded entirely by grants, private donations and fund-raising dollars. How can WRN help? CCOIC provided this
wish list identifying items in need. Donations will be collected at each WRN monthly luncheon.
Volunteer opportunities are also available, visit the CCOIC website www.cc-oic.org or
call 610-692-2344 in West Chester or 610-917-2344 in Phoenixville for more information.
